Can I share my story?
Hi! I’m Stosch (Stoschy, to my former residents). I was a Resident Assistant for three years, and the leadership lessons I learned had a profound impact on my personal and professional life.
I had so much fun! I met such interesting people! I had the best coworkers and bosses!
But I learned all my lessons the hard way. My process of growing into the role was often stressful and emotionally draining.
I want better for you.
My career has taken me from NASA to IBM (and a few acronyms in between). I’m an academic author and patented inventor. I’ve been lucky to call Texas, Alabama, Puerto Rico, Minnesota, and Iowa home. I’ve had different roles at different companies in different places, and one thing I can say with certainty is that Residence Life fosters evergreen skills that are valued in the marketplace.
I’m passionate about educating tomorrow’s leaders today. Residence Life Professionals are positioned to make an impact today, and their early leadership experiences enable them to make an even bigger impact tomorrow.
When not advocating for Residence Life Professionals and their invaluable skills, you can find me tucked away in North Iowa with my wife and two small residents who call me Dad.
